Wait list Wednesday

Merry Christmas Everybody!!
I had an awesome Christmas, and received so many presents! many of them gift cards and books so expect a book haul soon. How was your Christmas? good, i hope. Was it just me or did it not feel like Christmas? it should be the middle of October or something. On to other news, I'm pretty sure your all pretty confused at what wait list Wednesdays are. Well wait list isn't the perfect word to describe it but its pretty much the a few of the book that i seriously can't wait to read. Hope you guys enjoy this new topic.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

Synopsis
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

This book has been out for about two years already and  I haven't read it yet! The Fault In Our Stars is at the top of my reading list, I  am dying to read it! Fortunately though, one of my best friends was kind enough to lend it to me, so; Thanks girl! Seriously though, I'll most likely read this tomorrow, after i finish one of my other books, so i can review it. Tell me if you enjoyed this book and why down in the comments or by emailing me at; princessjen211101@gmail.

                                                                            Sweet Reckoning By: Wendy Higgins

Synopsis
It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

I am so freaking excited to read this book!! I have obsessively stalking the interwebs, trying to win myself an ARC or read a sneak preview of it, and I'm pretty sure that is really unhealthy. I can't see myself not wanting to read this book, especially since i loved the first two books of this series! Now that i think about it though, I think I just love freakishly handsome, arrogant male characters. For example I love Kaiden from the Sweet series, Jace from the Mortal Instruments, Chuck from Gossip Girl (the T.V show),  Damon from the Vampire Diaries (T.V show) and Klaus from the Vampire Diaries and the Originals. Is it just me? Comment or email me, is you also excite for Sweet Reckoning to come out, or if you have this obsession and we can discuss if it's normal or not. My email: princessjen211101@gmail

                                                               Divergent by Veronica Roth

Synopsis
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

At first I didn't really want to read this book... then I saw the movie trailer, I know I know horrible, but the first time I read the synopsis, it wasn't that interesting to me. It took me a while to actually want to read this and some reassurance from one of my friends, telling me that Divergent is actually good. Comment or email me, telling me if this book is worth all the hype, and your first reaction to this book. My email: princessjen211101@gmail

Well those are three books in my to read pile, hope you guys liked it! and please please please comment, like or subscribe via email or Bloglovin' we would really appreciate it! It would also encourage us to post more! Merry Christmas and Boxing day to all and all a good night!

The Selection

Hi Everbody!
We are so sorry for not posting in so long! We just had to catch up on our reading so  we could have books to blog about. Anyway here is another review and expect another post on Wednesday!

Title: The Selection
Author: Kiera Cass
Pages: 336 (paperback)
Publisher: HarperCollins
Release Date: March 18, 2013
Reading Level: YA
*Caution: (May contain) Spoilers
Synopsis
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon. But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened
by violent rebel attacks. Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she''s made for herself-and realizes that the life she''s always dreamed of may not compare to a
future she never imagined.

Book Trailer:

                                                              My Thoughts:

The story takes place in future North America, after the 3rd world war. This world works in ranks (similar to The Hunger Games), Castes, ranging from 1-8 (1 being at the top (rich and royalty), 8 being the bottom (poor, and servants) ).

America Singer lives in Carolina (a province/state), the fifth caste, she is a singer (I have no idea about the names, so don’t ask me!) and has a secret affair with Aspen, who lives in the sixth caste. They planned
to get married, but then America would have to live in the seventh caste; she’ll be a servant, and do all the dirty work. Aspen hates this idea, and doesn't like that he can’t support America, and that she’s giving him food which he can’t afford.

When the letter to enter into the draw for The Selection arrived, America refused to enter the competition, since she was sure that she and Aspen would get married. But Aspen insisted that she enter the competition. After she enters America gets chosen along with 34 other girls across the country, to compete in a competition to win Prince Maxon’s heart, or the crown. Automatically, America hates Maxon, and wants to get out of the palace immediately, but soon she becomes accustomed to her surroundings, makes a few friends and begins a relationship with Maxon, who loves her.

I loved The Selection! Ok., ok., I did think that it was a bit of a dumb book at first, but now I can’t imagine not reading it. The plot was perfect (except I didn’t like the cliffhanger),  and the character descriptions could have been a bit clearer, there are also so many characters that it would have helped to have a page or something to help you remember. I thought America was completely and utterly stupid, she was so stupid I was on the brink of going crazy! (just ask Princess, she knows!) The characters go through thick and thin, and everything that you’re pretty sure won’t happen, will happen (unless you can predict the future or something). Even though I thought America was stupid, I just couldn’t get enough of the book! It was awesome, its one of my favourite series ever! The plot is good, the character description could’ve been a bit better, but the descriptions were amazing and I imagined every detail, in the whole story. I recommend this book/series to anybody who loves a good romance, and who likes a bit of drama, or a lot of drama!

Extra: Throne of Glass Character Descriptions!

Hello my beautiful readers!
I'm very sorry for not posting last week but its, just been so hectic! So I am now posting the very late character descriptions, and I'm working on another review that i can hopefully post this weekend. Hope you enjoy!

Celaena Sardothien:
Celaena is heroine in The Throne of Glass. She is described as beautiful, charming, arrogant, witty, hotheaded, and compassionate, she also has a great sense of humor and a keen intelligence. The begginning of her life wasnt so great though, her parents had died when she was young, so she became an assassin. Later on she is known as the greatest assassin in  the world! she sure set high goals for herself. Though she was caught at the age of seventeen and was sentenced to slavery at the Endovier salt mines, where she received three long scars on her back, for trying to escape. After a year of torturous slavery, she was released by Crown Prince Dorian, to partake in a competition to become the King’s champion, which could earn her, her freedom after several years of servitude for the King.  While competing she becomes friends with Crown Prince Dorian, the Captain of the Royal Guard Chaol Westfall, and the Ewllye Princess Nehemia. While Celaena struggles to triumph the kings tests she is also “chosen” by Queen Elena to solve the mystery of why her opponents are randomly dropping dead. While this is all happening Celaena ends up dating Dorian, but dumps him by the end of the book.(Ouch!)

 Chaol Westfall
Chaol is the Captain of the Royal guard and Prince Dorian’s best friend. He is described as gruff, aloof, broody, witty and loyal. Originally Chaol was heir to become the lord of Anielle (south of Adarlan) but renounced his title at thirteen to train with the royal guards, a position his father the Lord of Anielle looked down upon. Chaol like to follow the laws and is loyal to the King of Adarlan, but will do anything for the ones he cares about. At the beginning of the book Chaol was hesitant to trust Celaena but over time, he learns to trust her. Celaena and Chaol’s relationship is a little complicated because it is hinted throughout the book that Chaol might be falling or is in love with Celaena but doesn’t do anything because of Dorian. Oftentimes Celaena and Chaol would hang out and talk and banter each other when one of them needs to talk to somebody. (I'm all for Celaena and Chaol being together)

Dorian Havillard
Dorian is the Crown Prince of Adarlan and Chaol’s best friend. Dorian struggles to accept his destiny as the King of Adarlan one day and his place at his father’s side. Because he disapproves of many of the laws his father has made (i.e. banning magic, the agonizing prison camps) so he would try to avoid contact with his father altogether. Dorian absolutely loathes going to his mother’s court too, because he is in no rush to get married and produce heirs but his mother as other ideas, and has made it her mission to find him a suitable woman for him to marry. He claims that without Chaol he would have gone mad years ago. After Celaena has arrived to the glass palace he and Celaena’s relationship starts out as just friends but soon escalates to dating. At the end of the book he and Celaena are no longer dating. I would describe Dorian as kind, charming, smart, handsome and a little bit of a womanizer. (Blondie's Team Dorian :( )

Nehemia Ytger
Nehemia is the Princess and heir of Ewllye. The reasons why she is visiting Adarlan and the glass palace are unknown, but it is rumored that she has connections to the rebel movement in Ewllye. Whether she is or not, Nehemia fiercely loves her country, and does her best to ensure they are happy and safe. In the book Nehemia befriends Celaena and saves Celaena twice with magic, despite the fact that magic is illegal. ( I'm skeptical about her)
